0

On a scale of 10, the Samsung QX410-J01 laptop scores a 9 for its sophisticated design and features, while it scores an 8 for its performance. Battery life and customer service is given the rating of 7. This makes this laptop a strong usability device that looks good and also feels good to use. It has a large touchpad that is quite comfortable along with having Intel Wireless display and a Nividia Optimus graphics which are the main qualities that make experts love it.

Review

Samsung is more famous for its mobile technology and other electronics rather than for its laptops. However, the Samsung QX410 is an exception. The company has just put its foot in the laptop industry in 2010 and does have a long way to come before it can compete with other industry giants.

Features

  • An entry level Nvidia GeForce 310M Optimus enabled graphics.
  • A 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5 processor.
  • A strong 640GB 5,400rpm hard drive.
  • Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit) as its operating system.
  • It measures 13.7 x 9.7 inches in dimension and 1.1 inches in height.
  • The screen size is 14 inches which is good enough for watching high end HD movies.
  • A great multi touch pad that is quite responsive and large enough for your fingers to move freely.
  • The screen has a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels which is the standard value for a high end laptop.
  • There are stereo speakers integrated below the screen and has proved to sound pretty loud, which is quite a surprise as most laptops don’t really sound that good. It’s perfect for gaming, watching action videos and listening to some great thumping music.
  • There is also an integrated webcam that has a video resolution of 640 x 480 pixels which means good enough picture quality for a web chat; however, it still has to come a long way to be a high definition cam.
  • The price of this beauty is set out to be a little bit expensive at $849.

The Bad

According to experts the Samsung QX410 lacks a good battery life and it also has no availability of Bluetooth. Another injury to the wound is an entry level Nividia GeForce graphics, which means playing high end games would be a little uncomfortable. It also doesn’t have Blu-ray, but it’s not a matter of concern if you are not interested in that line of technology. There are some complaints from users regarding the touch pad that some claim to be hard to use. Some have also complained of the body color to wash off with the machine having a bad mirror reflection.

Bottom Line

If you need a strong computing device that could fulfill basic needs such as low graphic gaming, watching HD movies, working on graphical software programs and even something that is sleek and stylish then do check out for this laptop. However, with its price in mind, it is good to check out something better under a more economical price.
