The HTC HD7 is the second phone that HTC has released with the Windows operating system. The device also goes by the names HTC HD# and HTC T9292.The phone is sleek and glossy and it has a unique kickstand. The phone is actually known for its big screen.

The HD7 is 4.8 inches in length, 2.68 inches in width and 0.44 inches thick. It weighs approximately 162 grams, which is a little heavier than the average cell phone, but not so heavy that it would be uncomfortable to carry in your pocket. Likse most HTC phones, the Merge is basically all screen when it comes to the front of the device. There is the screen, three capacitive buttons below the screen and an HTC logo at the top. The three capacitive buttons are the back button, the home button and the search button. On the right of the device there is a volume toggle switch as well as a quick launch button for the camera. The left side of the device is bare and top of the phone is where the power/lock button is located. On the bottom there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack in addition to a microUSB port. The back is kept simple as with most of HTC’s devices. The camera is located on the back. Surround the camera is actually a kickstand for those who enjoy watching movies on their smart phones.

The acclaimed screen is a 4.3 inch LCD touch screen. The screen is capacitive and has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels which is considered high quality. The screen is made out of scratch resistant Gorilla glass. It is a multi-touch touch screen which is great because of its virtual keyboard. Multi-touch makes it so the user can type more efficiently and without typos. The screen also has a light sensor and a proximity sensor, both of which enhance battery life.

The HTC HD7 is run by the Window Phone 7 operating system. Furthermore, it has a 1000 MHz processor. It also features a recent version of Bluetooth 2.1, a built in compass, and an internal GPS. The device has a built in storage of 16384 MB which is enough storage for anything that you would do on the device. There is also room for a microSD card so the chances of the user running out of storage room are pretty low.

The phone has a 5MP camera. It has auto-focus and a dual LED flash. It features auto-focus as well as multiple scene modes including, but not limited to, candlelight, landscape, and portrait. It has the ability to capture videos. The camcorder can capture a video that has a resolution of 1280 x 720, which is considered high definition.

The HTC HD7 has a 1230 mAH rechargeable lithium ion battery. Most smartphones are equipped with at least a 1500 mAh battery, so one would expect this device to have a low battery life, but that is quite the contrary. Those who have tested the battery claim that the device can handle almost 7 hours of talk time, which is common amongst smart phones.
