Announcement and Review of Hulu Plus

Welcome to our review of the new product ‘Hulu Plus’. We hope you will find our review helpful. Please enjoy and return to us again for your technology news.

A little while ago it was announced that there would be a new service debuting from Hulu. This service would be premium but at that time this was only a rumor. Now it has been confirmed that there is a new premium service being offered by Hulu called Hulu Plus.

The Basics on Hulu Plus

People hearing about the new Hulu might be worried that the old version of the Hulu service will be removed. Hulu however has informed the public that this is not happening. They are saying that adding a premium service to the existing Hulu service is simply just a good business decision on their part. This new premium service will cost users roughly $10.00 a month to use. It will come with many new features but will still contain advertisements which you must watch in order to see your program.

The New Features of Hulu Plus

The new premium service has been created with capability in mind. This new premium service will be able to work on iPhones, iPads, TV sets, and many other similar devices. Hulu will also provide support for their premium service on these devices. As previously stated; the advertisements on Hulu will also be on Hulu Plus. So whether you’re a free user or a paid user; you will have to watch the advertisements.  Here are some of the new features you can expect to see on the new Hulu Plus premium service:

  • Compatible with iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone
  • Compatible with televisions and Android phones
  • Support for video game consoles such as PS3 and Xbox360
  • The stream works on 3G and WiFi
  • Ability to watch all the episodes of a current show
  • Ability to watch all episodes of past shows
  • More older TV shows available
  • Advertisements are the same as in the non-paid Hulu version

In Summary

This new premium service will be good for people that want the additional device support. It will also be good for people that want to watch their favourite old TV shows that are not available on the regular Hulu. However the downside is that you are paying $10 a month and still seeing advertisements.

  1. very interesting.. excellent post!
    its a geek thing 😉

  2. I’d be interested in your follow up and actual review of the product.

I just subscribed today and the Hulu Plus only offers what basic Hulu used to offer for free. Episodes of shows with more and more commercials. With the same crazy things that used to freeze up my computer.

I haven’t been able to watch one episode without it freezing up or even dumping me out of Safari. (Netflix works fine on the same wireless set up I have).

The only difference between free Hulu a year ago and Hulu Plus today is the cost… now I’m paying for it. Too bad it was too good to be true. I’m canceling tomorrow.
