The Sharp SH7218U – Brand New Android Phone

The Sharp SH7218U – Brand New Android Phone

The Android Clamshell series is a sleek group of phones with an interesting look. The progenitor of this breed of phone was the Samsung W899, but now that old phone has been usurped its own descendents. This new Smartphone is called the Sharp SH 7218U, and with its brand new capabilities on top of the same great technology you are used to with the entire Samsung line, it is sure to catch your fancy, if not with its beautiful and intriguing design, then because of its interesting physical features.

This phone comes with Qualcomm’s MSM7227 600 Megahertz processor inside of its slim white carapace, which may not be all that great for the stream heavy user, but it is still not a bad choice if you are looking for a phone that can do what you need it to do. The brain behind this little creature is the Android 2.2.1 Froyo operating system, along with the Sharp Dian Xin user interface. And what Smartphone is complete without a camera these days? The Sharp SH7218U is equipped with an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash, and uses a touch screen that rotates about.

The phone has 512 megabytes of RAM and 512 Megabytes of ROM, and it is also equipped with a microSD card slot so you can optimize the amount of memory available, as well as a micro USB adaptor. You can also connect to the internet via hotspots with the WiFi built into the phone, which includes access to high speed GSM/WCDMA networks as well. However, because this phone is only to be released in a specific area, the downside to it is that Android Market and Google Apps aren’t included with your initial purchase. Instead, the phone focuses more on Chinese-oriented applications and the Chinese market, for it was aimed towards the Chinese consumer.

The touch screen is a 3.4 inch 480-854 ASV screen with rotating capability, a screen that can turn around in a circle, which makes this phone into something far more interesting than the slim-flip phone model it resembles at first. While it may not be the best phone for surfing the web and downloading hoards of things, it is still a great phone to use for business as well as for personal calls home or to your friends. China has already experienced the release of this phone, and it is available now for 3000 Yuan, or about $457 U.S. Dollars.
