Nikon D7000 Review

0

The Nikon D7000 scores a whooping 9/10 rating for its sophisticated design. It also scores the same for its brilliant performance with an 8/10 score for its features and excellent image quality. The camera boasts of a great viewfinder, and some excellent operations control. You also get a double SDXC compatible card slots which means great memory storage options.  The only setback is lack of 1080/30p video. This is a great option for any professional photographer out there as its perfect when it comes to capturing action photography.

The Nikon D7000 does not boasts of flashy designs or complex camera features. Rather, it gives perfectly what a professional photographer would want; an eye for the perfect picture and a resulting print of the perfect picture. Perfection in professional photography is given by this $1,430.00 digital camera.  All these features combine to make this camera worth its price, unlike its other competitors that lacks on important photography options even though they come at a higher price.

Nikon has surely put in some enhanced features in this D7000 as it comes with a 16.2megapixel sensor and an Expeed 2 processor which means that you will be able to have enhanced analog to digital conversion process. The autofocus feature in the camera is what gives this camera the DSLR rise of 1080p HD video at a quality rate of 24fps.

The camera has a strong hold on exposure and metering as colors are produced in its true form, giving you a fine picture of monochrome grain appearance. The camera though sharp, does have a certain color noise to it which most experts could be fussy about. There are two SDXC card slots which can easily be configured for any data storage related functions. However, with this comes the complexity of transferring as there is a weird problem of the camera freezing while card to card to copy.

The camera offers three frames shot exposure bracketing and also a two frame under/over bracket. Other useful functions are the manual white balance, exposure control and microphone sensitivity settings for video recording.  It has a color depth of 23.6 x 15.6 mm and a sensitivity range of ISO 100 – ISO 6,400/25,600. You will also find a focal length multiplier of 1.5x along with a continuous shooting mode of 6fps and 100% viewfinder coverage. A brilliant autofocus of 39-pt AF and a shutter speed of 1/8,000 to 30 secs. You have a shutter durability guarantee of 150,000 cycles.

Video rate is given at 1080/24p/25p and H.264 QuickTime MOV Monaural quality. You can record around 20 minutes of video on the camera, which is quite an enhanced video recording rate as the earlier versions of Nikon could only get up to 5 minutes video.

You also have a mic input, which means sound can be effectively recorded too. The LCD size is of 3 inches and as mentioned before you have 2x SDXC memory slots. The battery life of the camera is at 1,050shots. The camera is built for a solid and professional grip and could be difficult for a newbie to adjust to. Do read the menu and other functionality details for gaining the best photography option from this camera.
