Review of T-Mobile Comet

0

The T –Mobile Comet is a phone with a solid design and good call quality and it comes with an affordable price and other vast options.

Design

The design of the T Mobile Comet is quite a diminutive one with length of 4.09 inches, width of 2.16 inches, thickness of 0.54 inches and a weight of 3.6 ounces. It has circular corners and rounded edges which makes it easy to hold and grip while travelling. The handset is quite reliable as its built is very strong but one bad thing was learnt from two review units that the plastic area around the navigation of the set peels off easily.

The T Mobile Comet has a responsive 2.8 inches WVGA (320 x 240) capacitive touch screen and the screen although expected to be of low resolution showed to be very bright and clear. The touch screen does not account to any problems as it easily clicks and scrolls down the menu. However, due to no multitouch support, the display in case of viewing Web pages and multimedia files turns out to be very small. It has both the Swype and the onscreen keyboard, though users prefer using the Swype keyboard.

Underneath the touch sensitive screen, you will find the four keys including Menu, Home, Back and Search alongwith a navigational pad, Talk and End keys beneath those. The silver ring outline is used for the directional keypad while the black key in the center is for Selection. Although you won’t need the D-pad as such but it is useful for viewing the Web pages and clicking links within.

On the left side of the phone, you will find a volume rocker while on the top of the set is a power button and a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. On the spine of the phone is the camera, the microSD expansion slot behind the battery. Also, the T Mobile Comet is packaged with a USB cable, a 2 GB microSD card, an AC adapter and a reference material.

Features and Performance

The T Mobile Comet features a speakerphone, speed dial, quad-band world roaming, conference calling, smart dial, voice commands and text and multimedia messaging, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a 3G capability. It also includes basic smartphone features such as e-mail and social networking accounts, Gmail, Exchange, Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo. Also the T Mobile Comet comes with standard multimedia capabilities including music and video supporting AAC, AAC+, MP3, eAAC+, MIDI, MPEG4 and WAV. It has an FM radio and a YouTube player along with an internal memory of 149 MB with an inclusion of a 2 GB microSD card and expansion slot of accepting capability of 32 GB.

The camera of the T Mobile Comet is 3.2 mega pixels but it has very limited editing options. However, some of the options include digital zoom, geo tagging, balance settings and video capture. The picture quality of the camera is sandy and dull in colors but one can easily figure out what objects are there in the picture. The result of the shots taken outside in the bright is much better whereas video quality is foggy.

The performance of the T Mobile Comet does not show major disappointments but its 528 MHz processor showed to quite slow at times. The T Mobile Comet has a 1,200 mAh lithium ion battery and offers a talk time of 9 hours and standby time of up to 12 days.
