0

As Christmas rolls round again, it becomes time to go through that annual ordeal, buying presents. However, with the continual growth of online shopping much of it can be done from the comfort of your home, with a nice cuppa. So with that in mind here are some of the best gifts for your geeky friends!

1. Juice Pack Air
From: Mophie.com

Although no one I know personally has had any problems with battery life on the iPhone 4 or 4S, it has been reported quite a bit. This seems to have been picked up on by companies, and there are all manner of battery products for nearly every phone. However few are as clever, or look as good, as the Mophie juice pack. The phone is inserted into the case from the top and fits in seamlessly with the design of the phone itself. Although it increases the size somewhat, it can double the battery life so is certainly worth it if you’re travelling places.

2. Electric DeLorean
From: DeLorean.com

Ok, so we might be going over the top a little here, but this is really amazing. For the princely sum of £70,000 you can be the amazingly proud owner of the Back To the Future Classic, even made by the DeLorean motor company itself. This one has been updated for the modern age, with a beefy electric engine by Epic EV, equivalent to around 260hp and a funky minimal interior. It’s really the perfect combination of the retro, snub-nosed looks that people love with the modern efficiency and reliability. Although it only has a range of around 100 miles, it’s quicker to 60 than the original version at just 4.9 seconds, it’s just a shame so few will ever be seen.

3. Enterprise Pizza Cutter
From: Thinkgeek.com

The classic geek gift has to be something from Star Trek. Unsurprisingly, there are many different Trekkie gifts, gadgets and replicas around today but a pizza cutter has to be one of the more unusual uses of the classic Enterprise shape. The NCC-1701 has now become a very handy and rather stylish pizza cutter, with a chrome plated body and laser etched blade (saucer?). Not only that, but there’s also a bottle opener variation!

4. PacMan Heat Changing Mug
From: Firebox.com, Amazon.com and others

Despite being over 30 years old, PacMan is still popular today, and seen by many as a true classic. Today they make a great range of memorabilia including this heat changing mug. The blank maze is printed around the outside, but when filled with boiling water monsters, cherries and PacMan himself fade into view. A classic present for the gamers and retro fans out there.

5. Star Wars Bath Robes
From: Firebox.com and others

Available in either Jedi brown or Emperor black, these great bathrobes look fantastic, as well as keeping you warm in the depths of winter (or space). But choose your side with care, with great power comes great responsibility…and a nicely embossed, hooded gown! (NOTE: It was a toss up between these and the Star Trek ones, also widely available)
